Mayan Apocalypse Solstice 2012



 Yesterday was the Winter Solstice and according to the Mayan Calendar the end time. Perhaps this day did bring the end of one era and the beginning of a new age. Perhaps a better one. I hope a better one.

Whatever you've view it was a beautiful sunny day and a welcome respite from the rain that has persisted so aggressively this past week.

My friend Simon accompanied me to Stonehenge yesterday and summed up the irony of all the folks with ipads, cameras, video cameras and so on (including us) with the line "Look at everyone recording the apocalypse for posterity".

The Avebury cycle with Michael Dames

On Saturday 24th March, just past the Equinox I met one of my hero's, Michael Dames. I first read The Silbury Treasure by Michael, and had to get my hands on The Avebury Cycle straight afterwards, really though I would recommend any of his writing. The guy is amazing. On this occasion Michael had been invited to a moot organised rom the switched on guys from the network of Ley hunters, a great bunch an a three day Avebury trip.
